On a bitterly cold Friday night in An Rinn GAA grounds, Rathgormack travelled to meet An Ghaeltacht in their John Curry Memorial U13 Tournament fixture. The match started at a great pace, with Rathgormack picking off two points in the first minute. An Ghaeltacht opened their scoring with a goal from a free at the six minute mark.  Rathgormack returned with a goal within two minutes following a brilliant display of teamwork the length of the pitch.  A volley of scores saw the first half end with Rathgormack 3-7 to An Ghaeltacht’s 1-1.  When the teams came back out on the field, Rathgormack opened the scoring quickly with two goals which An Ghaeltacht answered with an initial point and followed up with a further goal and five more points. Some great saves by both goalkeepers prevented a higher score tally for both sides. The parents and supporters who braved the cold sideline were treated to a fantastic display of football by both sides. The final score was Rathgormack 7-7 to An Ghaeltacht 2-7.
